Output preview

Example CSV output (illustrative, AUD)

Accounter exports reviewable CSV rows for spreadsheet cleanup and accounting import preparation. Check dates, descriptions, debit and credit amounts, and balances before importing.

Date
Description
Debit
Credit
Balance
01/07/2026
Opening balance (example)
$5,000.00
03/07/2026
Example supplier payment
$250.00
$4,750.00
05/07/2026
Example customer receipt
$1,200.00
$5,950.00

Balance check

Opening balance + money in − money out should equal the closing balance printed on the statement. If it does not, a row is missing, duplicated or misread: compare against the PDF before importing.

Example: $5,000.00 + $1,200.00 − $250.00 = $5,950.00, which matches the example closing balance of $5,950.00.

Before you rely on the output

Any tax or BAS figures you derive from the CSV are an estimate only. Accounter does not lodge BAS and does not run STP. MYOB imports bank files only as OFX, QFX or QIF, never CSV.

CommBank statement FAQ

Can I convert a CommBank statement to Excel?+

Accounter attempts readable CommBank PDF statements and gives you reviewable rows you can export as CSV and open in Excel. Compare the rows against the original PDF before relying on them.

How do I get a statement PDF from NetBank?+

Download the statement PDF from your NetBank account. Menu names can change, so check the Commonwealth Bank’s own help if the steps above differ from what you see.

Does Accounter lodge BAS or run STP?+

No. Accounter does not lodge BAS and does not run STP (Single Touch Payroll). Any figures are an estimate only; lodge through the ATO or your registered agent.

Can I import the CSV into MYOB?+

MYOB imports bank files only as OFX, QFX or QIF, not CSV, so a CSV export would need converting to one of those formats first.

Which currency are the amounts in?+

Amounts are shown as printed on your statement; for Australian CommBank accounts that is AUD.
