Westpac Statement to CSV

Upload a readable Westpac PDF statement, review the extracted rows, check the balance, and export CSV. Figures are estimates only: Accounter does not lodge BAS and does not run STP.

How to export a Westpac statement to CSV

  1. Download your statement as a PDF from Westpac (use a text-based PDF, not a photo or scan).
  2. Upload the PDF to Accounter and wait for the transaction rows to appear.
  3. Run the balance check: opening balance plus credits minus debits should equal the closing balance.
  4. Fix any rows that do not match the PDF, then export CSV.

Balance check

Opening balance + credits − debits should equal the closing balance. Illustrative example (not a real statement): $1,000.00 + $250.00 − $200.00 = $1,050.00; printed closing $1,050.00, difference $0.00 (matches).

Westpac statement FAQ

Can Accounter convert a Westpac statement PDF to CSV?+

Accounter attempts readable PDF statements and gives you transaction rows to review before you export CSV. Scanned or unusual layouts may need correction, so always check the rows against your original statement.

Has this been tested on real Westpac PDFs?+

Not yet confirmed on this page. We will publish results only after real Westpac statements have been tested. Until then, use the balance check to verify any export.

Can I import the CSV straight into MYOB?+

MYOB imports bank files only as OFX, QFX or QIF, never CSV. A CSV from Accounter is for spreadsheets and for software that accepts CSV imports.

Does Accounter lodge BAS or run STP?+

No. Accounter does not lodge BAS and does not run Single Touch Payroll (STP). Any figures you derive from an export are estimates only; lodge through the ATO or your registered agent.

Which currency does the export use?+

Amounts are copied as printed on the statement. Westpac Australian accounts are normally in AUD.
